Why Do I Get Sting Sensation All Over My Body When I Chew Tobacco?
I have chewed tobacco for 40 years. However recently, when I chew tobacco I get these sting sensations through out my body. The only time when the stinging sensations subside is when I go to sleep. Am I allergic to chewing tobacco? It feels that my nerve cells are short circuiting on me.
That is a very interesting symptom you are experiencing. Tobacco contains the active component nicotine which is known to constrict your blood vessels. The fact that you are getting a tingling sensation may have some correlation to that. Nonetheless, the active elements in tobacco have several effects on different body systems and of all these, NO effect is positive. You may be getting some anxiety due to either an overload of nicotine in your system. Also, at times, some of these symptoms are related to nicotine withdrawal too. 40 years has been a very long time now, you need to give up the habit and there are ways to do so. I would really recommend professional help to help you quit and get rid of your unpleasant symptoms. Maybe this 'short circuiting' is a sign for you to quit!
