Why Do My Lymph Nodes Swell After Alcohol Consumption?
Hi for the past year, ever since I gave birth to my daughter, every time I drink even the smallest amount of alcohol my lymph nodes in my throat swell up. I went to a specialist and had blood tests as well as finally having one of them removed. No signs of cancer. I was told I could go to a rheumatologist if I wished to continue to pursue this but after a year and many tests I gave up. Now, when I drink alcohol after the first few sips my lower left back begins throbbing and the pain takes my breath away. Any ideas what this could be?
hello, thank you for asking this question The lymphatic system consists of lymph nodes (often called lymph glands), a network of thin lymphatic channels (similar to thin blood vessels), and organs such as the spleen and thymus. the most common cause of swollen lymph nodes is infection. For example, it is very common to develop swollen nodes in the neck during a bout of tonsillitis. Lymphoma is an uncommon cause of swollen lymph nodes. However, a lymphoma may be suspected if lymph nodes remain swollen for more than a couple of weeks or so, or if there is no infection to account for the swelling. Various other general symptoms may develop. For example: sweats (especially at night), fevers, weight loss, tiredness, being off food, anaemia, itch all over the body. I suggest you to take a biopsy of one of the swollen nodes.
Kind regards
