Hi,

I think that most probably you may be having infection of nail folds. So, there may be be swelling and fissuring of nail folds. It is called paronychia. The condition may be for long time and relapsing. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis. By complete investigations, internal diseases may be ruled out. Take a course of antibiotics under observation of doctor. That may be repeated if the relapse occurs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
