Why Does A Hair Strand Test Show Excessive Alcohol Consumption?
My wife has recently had a hair strand test, going back over a 3 month period, which deemed her to be exceeding chronic excessive alcohol consumption, yet a few weeks after she had a liver function test wich came back clear. Could anyone tell me how this could come about?

Hair follicles and bone retain alcohol and other illicit drugs for longer duration and it is more reliable than many other tests like live function test. In many alcoholics liver function test comes as normal with positive hair follicle test.
