Why Does Chest Infection Cause Back Pain?

hi ive had pain in my lower back for over a week im tired hot then cold and feel run down. went to doctors thinking i might have a kidney infection? was told after being examined ive got a chest infection yet i have no cough. how can a chest infection cause so much pain in my back

I can understand your concern.
Lower respiratory tract infection - pneumonia causes pleurisy.
Pleurisy is Inflammation of pleura. And this can cause pleuritic type of pain.
This pain is common in back side because pleura extend somewhat more lower than lungs.
So treatment of lung Infection should be the priority in such kind of back pain.
Warm water pad application on affected area is also helpful.
painkiller and anti inflammatory drugs are are also indicated if pain is severe.
So first control lung infection for your back pain.
