Why Does My 6 Year Old Son Have So Much Saliva Drooling From His Mouth?
My six year old son has to much saliva he isn t drooling but makes a sucking sound when there is to much in is mouth he has been doing this for the past few months what can be causing it and what can I do to help him he was given an inhaler around 9 months ago but has had to use it in about 4 months

hello thanks for consuting at hcm.There are a small group of otherwise normal children who drool up to about the age of six years. The problem is not normally overproduction but inefficient voluntary swallowing of saliva. In this group there may be a lack of appreciation of external salivary loss, intra-oral sensory dysfunction,intra-oral motor impairment or a combination of these factors.treatment includes 4 types-1)conservativethe presence ofnasal obstruction, dental disease or the use of medication that maybe contributing to the problem. Physiotherapists may be involved in improving posture and seating 2)appliance like vestibular screen or oral screen 3) drugs 4)surgery,,either ways plz consult a pedodontist and saliva contrl clinic in ur area if present..hope it helps..tc
