Why Does My Child Wet His Bed At Night And How Is It Prevented ?
Good day doctor .My daughter is 8 year old still he does urine in bed, he is in 2nd std well in studies, what shall I DO? HE CANT WAKE UP IN NIGHT WHILE URINE.

get her urine checked
if any abnormality found,treat it first
if there is no abnormality & even if she passes urine after treatment of urine problem,consult physician.
he will advise you not to take any fluid after 8 p.m.& to use midnight alarm & wake her up & to urinate her.
he will also give you medicine like imipramine or other medicine,which will cure her problem

This problem of passing urine unknowing during sleep in bed is seen in some children and is called bedwetting and the reasons which are common are:-
-psychological like the child gets afraid due to stories of ghosts which are discussed in their school by fellow students;and if the child fears teacher he sees dreams of such thing causing bed wetting.
-incontinence of bladder neck
-in some cases the laziness of the child to arise from can be a reason
The commonest causes are the first 2 and you will have to discuss with your child to find the reason or get the child to a doctor and he will try to find the reason.And if the problem is regarding the incontinence the doctor(paediatrician) will advise treatment or you can consult a urologist.
