Why Does My Head Hurt When I Cough?

Why does my head hurt when I cough? It hurts so bad, I am scarred to cough. I am just getting over a cold but even before my cold, after I eat, I sometimes get allergies and get congested and start coughing and again, my head hurts. What should I do?

Hello
The headaches may be tension headaches from spasms of your neck muscles when you cough but you should have a doctor evaluate this.

In the meantime, ibuprofen is my suggestion for the headaches
