Why Does My Post-miscarriage Ultrasound Show Fluid Collection And Retained Product?
I had an ultrasound scan after a miscarriage, could you please help translate the results? Some echo-free fluid is collected in the pouch of Douglas Adnexae are free relatively A few particles, suggestive of retained product is seen within the endometrial cavity No fibroid seen Thank you.
Post miscarriage your ultrasound shows fluid collection and retained products. No fibroid. You are advised to get clinically examined by a Gynae and get a Dilation and curettage (D&C) done. The retained products of the conception after miscarriage need to be removed or it will cause infection & fever along with other complications like heavy bleeding if it remains there in the uterus after a miscarriage or abortion.
After the procedure you may experience mild cramping and spotting or light bleeding. You can take ibuprofen (Advil) , one stat when needed to get relieve from pain. You can resume your activities in a day or two.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
