My husband was diagnosed with chronic main portal vein and superior mesenteric vein thrombosis n mild splenomegaly. Was on Warfarin but stopped n ended up with upper gi bleed Grade I varices n no srh. Treated n back home he vomitted blood.What could be the root cause as all haematology reports were negative. Will he be normal once inr is stable? Please help
It seems that your husband is suffering from portal hypertension leading on to oesophagus varices.It is quite possible that one of varices has bled producing haematomas is (blood in the vomitus ). you should remain in touch with your family doctor.
