Why Does The Blood Pressure Level Fluctuate Despite Being On Medication?

my husband is 70 years old he has had high blood pressure for many years but here lately his bp gets high when he sleeps, but all of a sudden it dropps dramatically. he is now taking 30 mgms of bp med in the morning, he use to take 130 but since this is happening he just takes the 30 mgm tablet. we don t know how to control this anymore?

Fluctuating blood pressure especially when patient is taking antihypertensive drug is commonly seen with heart diseases. So in my opinion, you should definitely take him to cardiologist and get done ECG, 2D echo and stress test (trade mill test). He may need other cardiac supportive drugs. He may also need angiography if any of the above report is positive for heart damage.
