Hi, thanks for asking in Healthcare Magic.
Drinking too much water or taking alcohol, coffee or tea will result in excessive urine production. Healthy young adults produce more urine in day time than during night. That is because, the anti
diuretic hormone (ADH) which restricts the amount of water excretion is mainly produced during sleep. So, during deep sleep, due to the influence of ADH only moderate quantities of urine is produced. That is why you are passing low quantity, concentrated urine on the days you sleep soundly. It is quite normal and will not cause any
kidney disease.
The urge to void urine is felt even when the bladder is half full. So when you are sleeping lightly you tend to urinate frequently. On the contrary when you sleep deeply you don't really feel the urge until the bladder is completely full.
But if you are urinating very often, then you should rule out
Diabetes and
Prostate enlargement, the two common causes of
frequent urination.
Simple life style modifications like avoiding coffee, tea and alcohol before sleep and good sleeping habits will reduce night time awakenings.
I hope this is useful to you.
