Why Have I Been Having Recurrent Yet Temporary Fainting Spells From Which I Recover In About 2 To 3 Minutes?

I faint and recover in about 2 to 3 minutes. I hurt my head in the process requiring seuture. This has happened 4 to 5 times. This episode is quite often since last 10 to 15 years. Last time I had this fainting episode 3 days ago and the recovery time was little longer. I also understand my mitral valve has prolapsed. Can I get your advice please. Thnank you Kind regards.. .
