Hello,
You are suffering from severe pain in your lower back that is more on the left side radiating to your legs. Your symptoms are indicative of developing sciatica, lumbar
herniated disc, compression of
sciatic nerve by
piriformis muscle, inflammation of the arachnoid. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get all required tests and investigations done. You will be treated accordingly.
If sciatica is detected steroids are given orally or by shots to alleviate pain. Exercises, maintaining healthy weight may help. Surgery is recommended when symptoms start affecting your quality of life. Pain medication or
physiotherapy and avoiding pain triggers such as certain sitting positions and strenuous physical activities are helpful.
Rest, hot and cold treatments,
massage therapy will help to increase your mobility. Self-care, exercise, and proper posture will help to improve symptoms. You will feel better. You can also take muscle relaxants or anti-inflammatories to reduce pain and discomfort. Avoid sedentary lifestyle. Stay away from addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
