Why I Am Getting Pregnancy Symptoms Even Though Test Is Negative?

I have been having all the pregnancy symptoms. My period did come this month to what i think is normal. It just wasnt as heavy and red as it usually is. Now that my period has stopped, i have bad fatigue, cramps, twinges & lower back pain. I took a pregnancy test, but it was negative.

Hallow Dear,

The first cardinal symptom of pregnancy is missing a period, which you have not, though it was lighter than usual and probably darker in colour. So it is but natural that you have a doubt about pregnancy in your mind.

Actually for diagnosis of pregnancy we advise pregnancy test on overnight first morning urine sample about 8-10 days after missed period. Done earlier, these tests may give false negative results. You have taken this test too early to be reliable. However, since you have not missed a period, the million dollar question is when to perform this test. The practical and fool proof answer for this is to opt for Beta hCG test. This test is highly specific and sensitive. It gives reliable results even few days before missing a period.

Fatigue, cramps, twigs and lower back pain are not the signs and symptoms of pregnancy. They are nausea, frequent urination and breast symptoms like engorgement & tenderness, dark discolouration of nipples & areola with widening of areola, tubercles under the areola and secretions from the nipples. These all symptoms start appearing about 10 days after missed period.

The current symptoms you are describing could be due to anaemia. Please get your blood examined for haemoglobin percentage. Then if required, you may have to start iron supplementation. Or else, please report to your physician for these symptoms.

I hope this helps you to conclude whether you are pregnant or not.
