Why Is Betnesol Injections Taken For Low AFI Fluid During A Pregnancy?

I m 34 weeks pregnant and I took betnasol injections. I think they gave me because my AFI fluid is low I.e., 8-9 cms. What I don t understand is that in your explanation it is mentioned high levels of AFI fluid for taking the dose, then what is the significance of taking when its low n its effects?

Hello,I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. Betnesol is a steroid mainly we give it for maturation of baby, if delivery is required before maturation of baby by any cause. This inj prevent respiratory distress syndrome of premature baby. If AFI is less than 7 then we called less amniotic fluid. If you have any other query then you can contact me. Thank you.
