Hi everyone, I am Debra. My surgery is schedule for 4/8/15. I didn t expect it to be so difficult (emotionally). The doctor performing the surgery specializes in minimally invasive gynecology. I went to two other doctors to confirm that a hysterectomy is needed and they all concurred. The only difference is this doctor wants me to have a D&C prior to the hysterectomy. I don t understand why the D&C is necessary. The hysterectomy is necessary due to uterine fibroids, I have nor my parents or grandparents have a history of cancer and I have never had an abnormal pap. I hear the D&C is very painfully. I don t want to go through if it s not necessary especially when I an scheduled for a hysterectomy 6 days later. Any advice?
