Why Is Duphaston Tablet Prescribed During Pregnancy?
Hi, I m 32yrs old i m month pregrant. Dr has asked me to take Duphaston wht to know the reason why. This is my second baby.My 1st baby passed away after 12days of birth. The water go observed in the womb itself and i had to go through c-section. Cud u pls help me.
Duphaston is Dihydrogesterone which is basically progesterone.....a pregnancy supportive hormone. It is given to augment the naturally occurring progesterone in the body so as to promote good pregnancy outcome i.e it helps in prevention of miscarriage. It does not have any harmful effects on the baby. I would suggest you follow the course of drugs prescribed by your obstetrician and regularly have followup visits through out your pregnancy.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concern. Wishing you and your baby good health.
