Why Is Levipil Dosage Increased While On Treatment For Seizures?

Hello doctor, My kid got seizure when he was 1year and 6 months old due to an h1n1 flu. It was a prolonged seizure. After that doctor prescribed Levipil 100 ml (1ml twice a day). No seizure happened after that and Now he is one year and 11 months old. Now the dosage has been increased to give 1.5 ml at night as per the doctor s advice. I would like to know why the dosage has been increased and how long he may need to continue on the medication?
