Why Is Lisinopril Prescribed To Type 2 Diabetic Person?
I was just diagnosed with diabetes, type 2. I was prescribed metformin and lisinopril. lisinopril is for high tryglisarides and cholesterol, yes? They doctor said those were both at good levels, but prescribed lisinopril anyway. Why am I taking it?

The medication lisinopril is also ACE inhibitor(angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor) this are a group of medication which are having multiple benefits the main benefit in diabetes are 1.kidney protection 2.Decrease free radical damage to body 3.controllers blood pressure
This medication also prevents the microvascular complications in diabetes. in my opinion you are taking good combination of medications i suggest you to continue the same. Regards
