Why Is Misoprostol Prescribed Before A Cervical Scan?
I am 62 years old and my gynecologist prescribed misoprostol for my next annual exam because last visit she said my cervix was closed or hard for her to do the exam. I told her to try anyway and it was very painful for the first time. Why is misoprostol prescribed and what does it do? Also, which way should I take it...oral or in the vagina before the exam? Will it make the exam less painful?
