Why Is Steron Prescribed During Pregnancy?

I have got ectopic pregnancy for about 85 days. Doctors didn t say anything frankly. Instead they have given me steron tablets for 4 days and said that they could tell me anything only after scanning again in 4 days. What may be result? Am restless. How is my baby?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Steron contains a drug similar to the female hormone progesterone. Many times doctors prescribe it in the first trimester to prevent miscarriage.
I would recommend you to do the regular follow-ups that they are requesting to make sure how the pregnancy is going. Sometimes, scanning in a few days or for a couple of weeks is needed to confirm that the pregnancy is going well.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
