Why Is A 10 Month Old With Constant Fever And Frequent Urination Not Improve With Azithromycin ?
My son 10 months old having fever for four days. fever ranges from normal to 101 F, more often it remains around 100 F, along with this excess and frequent urination. My doctor gave him azithromycin and we have started giving this medicine from yesterday but no improvement yet.
Hi, Thanks and welcome to HCM . Fever with urinary problem in your baby suggests urinary tract infection. Better get the urine examined and if pus cells more than 5are present per HPF, then consult pediatrician . For temporary reduction of fever you may use paracetamol 3-4 times daily and tepid sponging. Hope this reply is OK for you. Further queries invited. Dr.M.V.Subrahmanyam.
