My dad has been having chest pains. He just went to the doctor and the EKG, blood work and stress test was all ok. They have him scheduled Monday for a gallbladder scan. Is this a normal procedure?
He has worked hard the past 2 days cleaning out his garage... could he have done something else?
What do you recommend that we do to ensure proper care?
Your doctor has rightly advised for ultrasound of abdomen(to scan gall bladder etc). Many conditions like gall bladder calculus may cause chest pain.Since all investigations related to chest are normal,it is important to investigate abdomen. Abdominal pathology like problem in liver, gall balder, pancreas, spleen etc may cause chest pain,so ultrasound of abdomen is important.
