Why Is Liquid Methadone Prescribed Instead Of Tablets?
Hello my name is George and I am currently on the methadone program (and am reducing to stop taking methadone, currently down to 30mg). I am interested in knowing if there is any reason as to why I am on the liquid form of methadone instead of methadone tablets? The reason I ask, is because I want be more reassured that my dispensed dose is controlled, eliminating human error. Also, some days feel like my dose holds me better and longer than other days. Is there any reason I wouldn t be prescribed methadone in tablet form? Thank you.
Hello, Sometimes liquid methadone is given in methadone clinic if the clinic is concerned about patients cheeking the pills and selling them. They can be more sure that you actually take the dose and do not pass it to someone else if the medication is liquid. Regards
