Why Is 'meftal-P' Given To A Child Suffering From UTI?
i have a niece 7 months old she had a high grade fever and we are suspecting it to be UTI since she had had UTI 3 times before. We have given her urine sample for urine microscopic test. Doc has prescribed Meftal-P susmenion. I wanted to ask u what does this medicine actually works. as much as i read i got that it is for treating fever but for fever doc has already proscribed CalPol. just to tell she also have a runny nose also.

Meftal-P is used for reducing fever and pain.
It will not cure UTI.
If you are giving Calpol, Meftal-P is not necessary.
For runny nose Steam inhalation and saline nasal drops locally will help.
You may try cetrizine 2.5 mg once daily for relief of cold.
