My 23 year old daughter has been throwing up all day, no fever, just nauseated and can't keep any thing down. She has type 1 diabetes and her sugars are running in the high 200 today. Could this just be a flu or something more serious like keto problem? Should she go to the hospital or see if will pass by morning?
Hello, Chances of ketosis are very low since her blood sugar levels are not that high. It could be due to gastritis or gastroeneteritis. In case she doesn't get weel in next 24 hours, please take her to ER. Till then give her rehydration solution and a proton pump inhibitor like PANTOPROZOLE 40 mg once a day. Thanks
