I am 48 yrs old with 3 children, my youngest being 21 yrs. old. I am currently not pregnant. I recently had a transabdominal and transvaginal pelvic ultrasound; the report states that my uterus is 11.3 x 5.6 x 6.1. My question is why is it so large and what does that mean?
It can be due to fibroid or thickened endometrial, endometriosis. If there is symptom like heavy bleeding then go for D and C otherwise asymptomatic will not cause a problem until unless there is thick endometrium because there can be many causes. Take oral contraceptive pills. After menopause uterus usually become small.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
