Why Is The Back Of My Throat Tightening?

I feel like the back of my throat is tightening, and the roof of my mouth and back of my nose. It frightens me and my pulse starts to race and I get shaky. I thought it might be a panic attack, but I do grit my teeth a lot. Could that be the cause, or should I be worried about something else?
