welcome to hcm,
short answer: discolouration of nails is due to lack of nutrients to nail and lack of circulation
detailed answer blue nails suggests that there is lack of oxygination to the nail that is due to lack of circulation
when the nail becomes black ; it suggests that either blood has clotted there or there is total circulation is not there in the nails.
hope this finds useful
