I have very sore itchy broken skin on my vulva area it has been like it for years I've tried every cream I can think of the only thing that has helped is trimovate cream but I have been told by the dr that is no longer available they gave me daktacort instead but it hasn't helped at all please help I'm at my wits end
I would keep a possibility of Candidal vulvovaginitis. Clinically it presents as vulval itching and pruritis and curdy vaginal discharge.
Recurrent Candidal vulvovaginitis could be because of underlying raised blood sugar levels/diabetes.
If I was your treating doctor I would have asked you to get a lab test for blood sugar levels.
An oral antifungal e.g fluconazole 150 mg once every week for 2 weeks along with an antifungal pessary e.g clotrimazole vaginal pessary once daily at night for 7 days, would be more effective in curing the infection rather than just using a topical antifungal like daktacort.
