Why Isn T The Baby Kicking After 4 Months Of Pregnancy?
I am 18 weeks 6 days pregnant with a boy and for the past few days i haven t felt the baby move as much as he used to. i last had my revealing ultrasound on 01/12/2016 and found out he has a boy but havent felt much lately of him moving. just concerned.
Hello and welcome to HCM, A previous normal ultrasound with current loss of any movement of the fetus needs urgent attention. The decrease or loss of movements can be due to intra-uterine death or hypoxia (decrease oxygen supply to baby) or anoxia (loss of oxygen supply to baby). An urgent ultrasound is required to monitor the well being of the baby. Usually, these events occur due to maternal complications like maternal hypertension, maternal diabetes etc. In case, any of these risk factors are present, they too need to be managed.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
