Why My 3 Years Old Son S Fever Is Not Coming Down?

HI, My son is 3 years and 6 months old and he is having fever since last 3 days.We give 5 ml of Ibugesic plus every 6-8 hours as prescribed by doctor. But after every 4 to 5 hours he is catching fever regularly. Also, doctor asked to do do C-Reactive protein test and result was 18.78 mg/l and hence doctor suggested that it is viral infection and he prescribed capodem-xp (2 times a day) and zanocin 3 times a day, but still their is no improvement. kindly help us out.

thanks for your question. well fever for 3 days...with crp in viral range...kindly look for
1. how high is the fever
2. any other complaints if child has like cough , burning urination, vomitting or loose stools or throat pain.
viral illness does produce high grade fever and it takes 4 to 5 days to come down. so wait for another 48 hours and if fever is not less then it warrants blood work and examination.
