General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.

Noted your history about having chest infection that got almost cleared by Amoxicillin, now have blockage of both ears, feeling deaf, wants to know whether to have more antibiotics.
The nose and Eustachian tubes is a part of respiratory system as the trachea and lungs are.
Hence infection is that of respiratory system.
The infection or inflammation can spread via Eustachian tubes to hte middle ear, most probably due to coughing or forceful blowing of nose.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult an ENT^ Surgeon asap.
This will give the best diagnosis.
Get relevant tests done, X-ray of chest and CT scan of sinuses if sinusitis is suspected.
Proper antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, oral and nasal decongestant.
Not to blow nose is very important.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
