Why My Father Is Unable To Speak And Move Still Now?

my father,51,6ft is a ishemic stroke patient(happened 1 yr 7 months ago) is not being able to speak properly now and cannot move his right hand .although he is under medication and physiotherapy,but no significant improvement have been noticed yet.please help...

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your father's symptoms and diagnosis.

Ischemic stroke leads to partial damage to brain nerves, if not treated on time. The only treatment that can salvage most of brain tissue is thrombolysis with tissue plasminogen activator. Based on your description, he seems to not have received thrombolytic therapy.

In this case, we do not expect complete recovery of his speech and right sided weakness.

If you can upload his MRI brain report, we would be able to assess the damage to the left side of his brain, that controls the speech and right hand strength.
