Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had the implanon inserted about 2 months ago in my left arm, and for the last 2-3 weeks my right shoulder has been horribly sore. It seems to be getting worse everyday, and I havnt been able to sleep trough the night without waking up to the pain. Could it be a side effect from the implanon?
As post-implant, there will some effects like soreness and pain. You need to check the x-ray at regular intervals. Is the bone is healing well then the adjacent joints needs to be having a passive or active or active assisted range of motion exercises under a guided physiotherapist so that the muscle property is maintained the venous drainage can happen properly?
Due to immobilization, there will be soreness and some good movements will help the muscle to achieve back its muscle property which may help to reduce the soreness.
Also, doing hot water fermentation will help reduce pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
