Why Painful Lump Is Still Present After Finger Broke A Year Back After Dog Bite?
My finger was broken by a dog bite almost a year ago and there is still a hard lump around the joint. I assumed that it is calcium build-up but when I really push around the injury it feels like it may be fluid. It took a surprising amount of time for the infection to go away....longer than any injury that I've ever had. It looks like a large knot and needless to say, unsightly. Still aches and I am unable to straighten it. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance
Hi. This is due to inflammation of the synovial covering of the joint , not allowing it to settle and cause pain and disability. Ortho opinon may help you . It looks you did not have time to keep it in rest, which is the most important part of the treatment.
