Why There Is A Painful Large Vein Bulging Out On My Leg?

Hello. I'm in my late 30's, non-smoker, non-drinker. I have a large vein on my upper leg that bulged out last night with a slight burning pain. This is after two weeks of leg pains. Should I go to a hospital or wait for my scheduled family doctor appointment on Thursday?

Hi, it could be a Varicose vein. You can wait till your regular appointment if its not very painful. You can apply compression bandage over it and take some pain medications for the time being. If its Varicose veins you might require a Color Doppler test which is painless like an ultrasound and can tell whether the veins are alright or not. Take care,
