Why Would A Heart Bypass Surgery Fail?

Why would a heart bypass fail? My 47-year-old daughter-in-law had a heart attack. Then she had triple bypass surgery but it failed. They flew her to a different hospital, did the bypass again and now that s failing. Her only hope now is a heart transplant but she s in no condition. We don t know when she had the first heart attack. It was most likely a month of two ago. Carynj46

Hi,

Usually, such patients are maintained on medicines and some improve with medicines itself and continue to do well. However, if not helping then she may be assessed for left ventricular assist devices till she is suitable for transplantation. So, discuss these options with your local doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
