General & Family Physician, Dr. Vidya KR's Response
Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
Toxoplasma infection, Ig G shows infection in the past. these are antibodies against toxoplasma, and it will prevent baby from infection. so your baby is on safer side. As her Ig M is negative, means it is not a recent infection. only recent infection has chances of affecting to baby. Your doctor has adviced not to worry, your wife is already immune to this infection. Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries. Wish you good health. Take care.
Regards Dr. Vidya
