Hello, Welcome to HCM,
Dogs are known reservoir of rabies virus and can transmit to human beings by biting. Rabies is 100% fatal but it is 100% preventable by proper and adequate treatment.
Anti rabies vaccine should be taken to deltoid region not to gluteal region because of more fat in the gluteal region. When the vaccine is administered into the gluteal region the vaccine will enter the fat cell and it will not stimulate the immune system to induce protective antibody titres.
Preferably it should be administered into the muscle. As you were administered first dose of anti rabies vaccine into gluteal region it may delay the induction of protective antibody titres. It is better to start the fresh regimen from the day 3 dose. Thank you.
