Will Erythromycin Help To Reduce Chest Infection?

I am taking Erythromycin e.e. Ta 400mg (E-M) - 1 tablet four times daily for whooping cough. I am an adult but this infection is actually on my chest so will this antibiotic actually clear up the problem of my coughing which occurs throughout the night as well as daytime.

I understood your health concerns and feel Concerned about them.

Based on the facts of your query, you seem to suffer from-
Whooping Cough-with Bronchitis.?TB brohchitis?
Either of these possibilities with other causes of chronic cough need to be investigated and confirmed by Gram's stain with AFB smear testing with other tests of TB(IGRA blood test and PCR test) and Pertussis(PCR/ Elisa Tests ) Cough.
Chest X-ray and clinical examination by Chest Physician also is needed to confirm the diagnosis of whooping Cough.
After Confirmation- if Erythromycin does not regress the cough/ Clarithromycin /or Azithromycin needs to be kept in mind in resistant cases.
