Will I Be Able To Run After An Inner Sesamoid Bone Injury?

I shattered my inner sesamoid bone on my right foor. I was in a cast for 4 weeks and when they removed it they said that it actually got worse so instead of putting me back into a cast they are just having me wear insoles for my shoes. Also they said if it does not heal then they will give me medicated shots and then from there remove it. My biggest concern is that I will never be able to run or perform sports anymore. Is that the case? Will I not be able to run if it is remove the bone? Is playing sports out of the question ever again?
