Will Nordette Be Effective If Taken On The Second Day After Sex?
Hi Dr. My last menstrual period was on June 5, 2016. I have 28 days cycle. I had unprotected sex on June 12, 2016 at about 10PM then June 13, 2016 at 11:23AM I took 4 pills of Nordette (Levonorgestrel) here in the Philippines then took 4 pills again after 12 hours. 5 hours after taking the 2nd dose I vomited then vomited again after an hour. The vomit was yellowish and has bitter taste. Is the ecp still effective? I m wondering if the vomit was the dissolved ecp. Will I get pregnant?

Taking 4 pills together without proton pump inhibitor or antacid is a cause of vomiting and repetition of another 4 medicines after 5 hours can be considered as over dose. The chances of pregnancy is remote and you should not panic for the same till the altered menses pattern get settled with a period of next 2 weeks.
