General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Both the drugs are synthetic forms of female hormone, progesterone and prescribed in pregnancy when the hormone deficiency is suspected.

It is also used to lower the risk of miscarriages or premature birth in women. It can be used in pregnancy. These drugs do not affect the nature of child delivery. They prevent certain complications of pregnancy. They may be required until 37 completed weeks.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
