Hello dear
Understand your concern
Yes spirolnolactone help in water retention as it has a
diuretic action and also induce ovulation.
PCOS is very complex disease and course is unpredictable. Treatment should be taken for at least 6 months to regularise the period and maintain body weight and glucose homoeostasis.
I prescribed flowing advice and medicine in this type of case:
Continue the
metformin and spironolactone
Oral
contraceptive pill to regularize the period.
Clomiphene citrate: to induce ovulation.
FSH analogue can be given to maintain
fertility.
If after using for 6 months, still no improvement in symptoms then it should be treated by surgery like ovarian dreeling.
Change the lifestyle, do regular exercise like walking, cycling, swimming, and medication.
Take small frequent meal rather than large meal, avoid oily/fatty/spicy food. So decrease your weight by 10 percent that will help in improvement.
So consult the gynaecologist to manage the case. Regular follow up should be done.
Hope this may help you
Best regards
