Will Thyronorm Dosage Be Increased Due To TSH Levels?
My husband is suffering from hypothyroidis consequent to radiation therapy he received for treatment of lymphoma.
He has been taking thyronorm for the last 6 months. We have the test TSH done every 6 weeks. He is now taking 137.5mcg tablets.
The TSH level has come down from 90 to 10.6 but still not within the normal range. Do you think the physician will prescribe a further increase in dosage? How high can the dosage go?
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Yes he needs more dose. At least increase to 150 mcg daily. You have to check TSH 6 weeks after using new dose.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bandar Khalid
