Will A Contraceptive Pill Work If Taken A Day After Intercourse?

Hello! I m 34 years old and on Cerazette since 2 years now. Last Saturday afternoon I had intercourse with my husband but later that evening I forgot to take my pill. I realized I missed the pill the next evening (on Sunday), but I took the following pill anyway. Do you think are there any risk to get pregnant? Thank you so much in advance.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern
In oral contraceptive pill use, you have to take one missed pill as early as possible or with the next day tablet means two tablet simultaneously.
If you took two tablet simultaneously next day (not clear from your history) then no chance of pregnancy.
If you missed one pill and took other pill regularly (and did not take missed pill) then there may be chance of pregnancy.
Now I am advice you to wait for period. If period will delay by 8-12 days then go for home pregnancy test to confirm pregnancy.
If you do not want pregnancy then use abortion pill under the advice of gynecologist.
Hope this may help you
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
