Will A Hepatitis B Carrier Have Any Problems In The Future?

Dear Doctor,

hoping all well with you. would like to understand and get more information about Hepatitis B. my guy just founf out tht he has Hepatitis B but the doctors informed him that he had this since he was a child. may be through his mother. he is now 29 years old.. and just had normal tests and in those tests now he came to know that he is actually infected. but the doctors also informed him that there was nothing to worry as the cells are non activated. they are at a very veyr very low rate and that could not actually effect his liver. what i know and understand is that he is a carrier. the doctors juist agave him some tablets and had his blood samples tested and also came to know that his liver is also Functioniing well without any effect. but i am still scared and would like to know that he will be fine later in future also. what further precautions can i take? please help me.

hi.
thanks for posting query at HCM.

HBsAg can not be completely eradicated in a patient suffering from HepB.

Treatment is ONLY advised if AST and ALT are > ULN and HBV DNA count on PCR is very high.

As tests are normal in the patient, Liver enzymes and HBsAg status and HBV DNA PCR maybe done regularly every 6 to 12 months,

even if HBV DNA count in PCR are not high,
Liver enzymes should be monitored regularly while HepB markers maybe checked every 6 to 12 months.

hope to answer your concern.
wish patient good n sound health.

regards
Dr Tayyab Malik
