I am an 82 year old male, that is having terrific pain in my lower back. I had a metal lprothesis stapendectemy don on my left ear for a hearing lose in 1961 which improved my hearing. About 4 years ago I had one done for my right ear but this time a plastic one which continued to help my hearing. Because of the metal one in my left ear, I was told in 1961 I could not nave an m r i which I now need to see what the problem in my back is. Would I be safe having an m r i for my back the the metal stapendectemy in my left ear now. I have been told that since it would be in the back area it might not affect the metal one in my left hear.
